Hey all...
Well, nothing like getting back from a long weekend of travels and have to head right back to work to suck the life right out of ya! Oh well, this is the way things have to be in the life and time of Snigglefritz. Anyway, I spent the past few days running around the lovely city of Chicago and enjoying some of the sights and sounds that the city has to offer. One such sound that was most abundant was the noise being projected from some Cubs fans after losing to their cross town rivals, the White Sox (please refer to wendyinchicago posting that has a nice photo of two of the players engaged in a hugging contest). I guess it was a good idea not to wear my Cardinals jersey while riding the "L" past Wrigley.
So, I got to see some wonderful sights and do some nice touring while there, but it is a city that if only going there for a couple of days it would be best to have an itinerary pretty much in place on arrival. Of course my travel plans was at the mercy of someone whose main concern was to see how much they could possibly drink while we were there. Oh yes, they were too busy going to Las Vegas to make our hotel reservation ahead of time, but they still reassured us that they were going to be taken care of. Well, the other half of our party had someone responsible enough to take care of things well in advance and were able to find a nice place down town that was within walking distance to all of the things that we were going to partake in. While on the other hand, our reservation were being "taken care of" by someone who was only worried about throwing the bones in Sin City. That is why we were able to stay at a negative three star resort way out in W.B.F. You all may know that I have a few hang ups about some "certain" issues. Knowing that, then you would understand just how uneasy I was having to listen to someone in the room next to me taking care of business while making a head call. I do believe that if I stood there long enough I might have been able to get a whiff of it. Not too mention the kids screaming five or six rooms down the hall. I guess I should have known right off the bat when I found out that there was only one working elevator in the building, rolled up carpet on the floors and wall paper curling up in the halls. Not good!!!
Oh well, all and all it was a nice trip and I am looking forward to making another run up there. Although, the next time I will be making my own reservations. That's for sure!
So, here are just a few pictures for all of your veiwing pleasure. Enjoy!
