Hey all...
Well, if by chance you have not seen the news the past few days, then you probably have missed out on hearing all about the fine summer weather we have had here in the Lou. From consecutive days of upper 90's and low 100 degree temperatures to monsoon rain storms with 80 plus mph winds. Ooooweee! As of today, I do believe that there are roughly 500,000 or so homes without power from both the big storms Wednesday night and yesterday. Trees down on homes, streets and cars and I even think that a house fell on a witch somewhere close by. Not to mention the collapse of part of the old Switzer candy factory in which bricks and rubble fell onto the Eads bridge. Ouch! I guess if there was a good thing about it was the fact that the Fair St. Louis was not going on at the time because they close off that bridge for use of food vendors and such. Part of a terminal roof at the airport even was lifted off and thrown onto the adjacent highway while tractor trailors were being blown over crossing the Chain Of Rocks bridge in north county. Ah, but the ordeal at Busch stadium was quite the show. If you happened to catch the video of the booths being blown down one of the concourses and the infield tarp being thrown around like a dish towel on a clothes line...then you know what I mean. I actually had free tickets to the game, but because of the repressive heat I declined the offer to go. I have to say that I am kind of glad that I did.
I do believe that today is going to be a nice day though...other than the fact that I am working. That stinks!
Have a spank'n good day.
