Hey everyone.
You know, there are some things in life that we just do not have any control over. Yet, we struggle with all of our might to manipulate those events so that the eventual outcome is one that meets our satisfaction. Other issues that we do have control over, either totally or partially, we sometimes just ignore and 'let the chips fall where they may'. Those are issues, that if we just take a moment to really address, might have end result that may be totally different than what we eventually experience.
Why is this an issue this evening? Because, tonight at work I have had the misfortune of being subjected to one of those events. One of those events that someone could have altered the outcome. All by just taking a moment to think about what they were doing instead of just letting those 'chips fall where they may'.
What could have been such an issue to cause me to want to sit down and write about it? Let me share that with you now...
Here at work, we have a couple of areas where employees are allowed to take their breaks and lunch at. The facility provides seating in these areas which would remind you of a mid 70's fast food dining area. Those with the plastic swivel seats affixed to stationary tables and booths that are just large enough for one person to sit at. Well, normally there is enough static noise within the building that it pretty much drowns out any normal sounds that you would hear outside or in any quiet area. It just so happened that at this time everything was shut down and there was not much background noise to contend with.
This is where the problem begins.
I had to travel to another part of the building and my route would take me by one of the before mentioned areas. Also, this was a time in which most of the building was very quiet. As I approached this break area, I noticed that one of the female employees was sitting at one of these tables with her back to me. Just as a note, she is a pretty large woman who fills in one of these plastic seats with great ease. Anyway, as I am walking towards her I notice that she begins to "rock", as if she is getting ready to exit this seat. Not really, as I would find out. Without any knowledge of me being behing her, she leans off to one side and just lets a huge stinking fart out right at me. Not one of those little sissy pooh pooh farts, but one that flaps the seat of your pants. Brrrraaaaapaapppthththhh...ppthhhhaatthhh...poot. Good heavens!
Well, much to her surprise, after her massive release of toxic gas she then noticed that there was someone else within ear shot. (Eye and nose shot too) Of course I just continued to walk in the general direction that I was originally heading. Making sure that I did not make any real eye contact with her. Her only remark...
"Oh my".
Hope that everyone has a great (and toxic odor free) day!!!!
