Hey everyone.
Mercy sakes alive!!! It's been a rough couple of days here in the Lou and I am behind the eight ball trying to get stuff done. Just the basic everyday items have been truly a chore (everyone who has seen me on-line, don't say anything) and getting them completed has prevented me from making any worthy entries. Ah, such is the life for the working class stiff. Work, work, goof off, work!
Oh, how things change. Today was finally going to be a day to catch up on sleep, personal needs and sleep. Well, it seems that I did not get much of those three accomplished, but I did have enough time to plan making a yummy dinner to help celebrate Cinco de Mayo a little early. Today's menu would consist of a scrumptious home made taco salad. Just like the locals make down at the quicky taco. Mmmm mmmm!! Now the menu is set and the colorful ingredients were simmering on the stove top just waiting until things were ready to go.
It was at this time I went outside to share in a little game of fetch with Ginger...the wonder dog! She really gets into her dog games and she will let you toss a ball to her all day long. She's just like that. Anyway, we played for about five minutes or so before I had to retreat back into the kitchen to finish up on the festivities. Mmmm mmm...only a few more minutes and I will get to indulge in this veritable feast.
Alas, the wait is over and it is time to dig in!
As I am sitting there, rolling my eyes in pleasure from this super-fine taco salad, I noticed a slight pungent odor about the kitchen. What could this be? The meal preparation was done with great care, so why was there an unusual smell being emenated from the kitchen? I searched the area to find nothing unusual or out of place. Nothing burning or lost behind the toaster rotting away. What, oh what could it be? Needless to say, after a few minutes of searching it came to pass that the culprit was found. It seems that Miss Ginger had left me a little "thanks for playing with me" gift in the yard that I failed to notice. Yet, I did discover her little flower neatly squished in the tread of my sandals while sitting at the dinner table.
For goodness sakes!
Oohh, that just kind of sucks the flavor right out of your yummy taco salad.
"Festivus..for the rest of us"
Everybody have a great day!
